In “Legion IX,” the infamous Ninth Legion of Rome emerges as a new menace in Avalon. Stepping out of the abyss of Tartarus, these soldiers are led by Gaius Julius Mento. Once a Roman tribune, Gaius now commands a demonic force, a macabre tribute from the deceased emperor, Septimus Sulla. But Gaius has grander dreams: he wishes to establish a never-ending Rome right in Avalon, but first, he must reunite his divided legion.
Diving into the game, you’ll find yourself in Gaius Julius Mento’s shoes, spearheading a merciless campaign flavored with Roman motifs. You’ll combat terrifying monsters, engage with the fierce Pict tribals, and face off against the ancient Fomorians and the crafty Sídhe. Be prepared to potentially clash with the knights from Sir Mordred’s Round Table, familiar to fans of “King Arthur: Knight’s Tale.” Across fifteen meticulously crafted missions, you’ll navigate Avalon, with Gaius’ destiny in your hands.
King Arthur: Legion IX marries strategic combat with role-playing elements. You control a squad comprised of five to six distinct heroes, navigating through and battling in Avalon. You’ll engage in strategic encounters using cover, setting traps, outflanking enemies, and mastering systems like overwatch and opportunity to gain the upper hand in combat.
The game introduces six unique heroes, each possessing their own skills and playstyles. Through leveling up and unlocking skill trees, you’ll equip these heroes with powerful artifacts, crafting them into formidable forces within Avalon.
