Pokémon TCG Announces “Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky” Expansion

Whoa, where do I even start with this? So, The Pokémon Company International—yeah, those folks—just spilled the beans about this new expansion. It’s all about Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Kind of a lofty title if you ask me, but hey, whatever works.

Anyway, mark your calendars or, I dunno, tattoo it on your arm or something (kidding, don’t do that) because on the 30th of July—do the math for 2025—something awesome is dropping. Get this, Pokémon from the Johto region are making a comeback! Yeah, that means Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, all those guys. And wait for it… Lugia and Ho-Oh. Legendary stuff, right?

Here’s a twist! Some Pokémon will pop up with attacks that don’t even need Energy. I mean, how does that even work? But I guess it means you can shake up your game in a big way. Maybe it’s genius. Or maybe it’s chaos. You decide.

Oh, and the Trade feature—yeah, that thing—is getting a makeover. Some folks are gonna love this, others might just throw their hands in the air. Now there’s this Wishlist Feature. Like, you know when you really want a card and you’re like, ugh, how do I snag it? Now you can flag up to 20 as your must-haves. Sort of like window shopping but for cards. Top three even get a spotlight on your profile. Fancy, huh?

So about those trade tokens? They’re pretty much saying goodbye. Poof! Gone. But hold your horses—I mean, is this good? Bad? Confusing? Maybe all of the above. Anyway, there’s something called shinedust now. Why does that sound like fairy magic? You get it from missions and doubling up on cards. And apparently, no more swapping cards for tokens after July 30th, 01:00 UTC. That’s a mouthful.
