Now, there’s been a recent tweak as of January 18th: finding Godzilla’s portal has become a tad more frequent, with reports suggesting its spawn rate doubled since its initial launch.
Wondering when and where Godzilla will make his grand entrance in Fortnite? Here’s the deal. To get your hands on Godzilla’s might, you’ll need to locate that elusive portal and dive in before anyone else. And here’s the kicker—the portal doesn’t show up in every game. You’re looking at a 40% chance of it appearing, which is significantly up from the 20% it debuted with. So, keep your fingers crossed.
If and when the portal does show up, it’ll happen as the first Storm Circle starts shrinking. You’ll get the heads up via a security alert at the bottom of your screen, notifying you with “Godzilla Portal is open” and even giving you a ping to its location.
To help you head in the right direction, your map will tag the portal’s location with a Godzilla icon. But be quick; it spawns reasonably early in the match, so if it’s not nearby, you’ll need to hustle. If it’s a long trek, your best shot is stockpiling ammo to go after Godzilla in combat.
Two side quests await those brave enough to take on Godzilla. To inflict maximum damage, aim for the glowing spikes on his back—they’re the sweet spot for bonus points and climbing the damage leaderboard. Keep an eye on the “Damage Inflicted” bar under Godzilla’s health gauge to see where you stand.
Once you’ve found your way into the portal, congratulations, you’re Godzilla now! You’ll acquire a trio of incredible abilities, but if you prefer the simple life, just trampling over other players works wonders too.
