While new players might not initially grasp how to wield mods to their full potential, they’re key to shaping a character that matches one’s gameplay style. Newbies should be encouraged to dive into these aspects right from the beginning.
Bungie introduced Guardian Ranks with the Lightfall update as a way to provide clearer objectives and a more streamlined path for all players, be they seasoned or fresh-faced. Though many of the rank challenges offer little beyond progression, the gateway to mods is guarded by three specific ranks:
– Rank five: Unlocks armor mods
– Rank six: Provides weapon mods, armor energy, and three loadout slots
– Rank seven: Grants armor charge mods
The design behind Guardian Ranks was to gradually familiarize players with these concepts, yet the results seem mixed.
