So, Bloober Team, right? They’re kinda like, the masters of creepy, pretty games. But here’s the thing – every game they’ve made makes you wanna hide under the sofa, except maybe that Silent Hill 2 remake they did, which was a bit more about… facing stuff. I think.
That’s why Cronos: The New Dawn feels different. Like, it’s special. Especially for folks like me who’d rather throw a punch than curl up into a scared little ball. Not that I’m brave or anything – just saying.
Man, when Cronos showed up on the scene, action-horror fans went bonkers. Think about it: the combat isn’t your regular shoot-bang-done deal. I mean, at first glance, it seemed all Dead Space-y. Yeah, I thought the same. But then… it wasn’t? Turns out, it’s about enemies merging or something, mid-fight! Wild, right?
Picture this: you’re fighting some creep, and then, bam! It morphs into something nastier because it… absorbed another guy’s corpse. Yeah. So, if you’re not careful, that’s a huge ‘uh-oh’ moment. Makes you rethink your battle plan while you’re knee-deep in chaos.
The latest gameplay showed this in action. One minute you’re head-on with a baddie, next minute, it’s scarfing down dead bodies like a midnight snack. Ew, but also, whoa. Adds health, new moves, the whole shebang. So basically, keep them away from the leftovers of your massacre. Or else.
And it’s not just all hack-slash-hopelessness. There’s that old resource thing – can’t go running and shooting like you’re invincible. Nope, you’ve gotta be smart about your ammo and stuff.
Earlier this year, I think it was, we gabbed with the game’s directors. Asked them why go all action-y now. They said something about blending horror with more interactivity? Sounds fancy.
Anyway, Cronos: The New Dawn – yeah, still no exact release date. Look for it… this fall? On PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. So they claim. Keep those eyes peeled!
