Carmageddon — ah, the chaos. Stainless Games is shaking things up, and by that, I mean Ben Gunstone is now the big cheese, the CEO. Took over from Patrick Buckland, who’s been steering this ship since, like, ’94. Yep, that makes him ancient in tech years.
Anyway — or wait, how’d it go? Ben’s been chilling at Stainless since, um, 2022? Started as a game director, then climbed the ladder (three years is kinda impressive, or maybe I’m just lazy). Oh, and before he was making waves at Stainless, he had a stint at Dovetail Games. Probably learned some cool stuff there.
Ben’s like, “Hey, I’m super excited to be the CEO!” or something along those lines. He’s pretty pumped about following the “awesome legacy” Patrick left. Patrick, by the way, is stepping back a bit — wants to, what was it, ditch the stress of being the CEO? But he’s not going far. Nope. He’s keeping a hand in as Executive Chairman. Let’s just say he’s moving into, uh, passion-project mode. Games are his thing, always will be, sounds like.
Oh, and Patrick cracked a joke about his age — something about being 62 but looking 70. Classic. He’s still the big shareholder though, so you know, it’s still his baby. But now, Ben’s the one running the day-to-day circus. Onwards, upwards, sideways, who knows — life’s weird like that.
