Alright, so there’s this new update for Ark: Survival Ascended. You know the game, right? Comes with this whole deal of surviving and crafting stuff. Anyway, they dropped this update – version 68.34, if you’re into numbers – around July 2025. Not super important, but worth noting. It’s mainly fixing stuff on PC and consoles, focusing on the Ark: Ragnarok Ascended expansion. Some folks were having a rough time with performance issues.
So, Ark: Survival Ascended launched, what was it, October 26, 2023? Feels like ages ago. It’s still in early access, which is…a choice, I guess. People seem torn about it; some love it, others not so much. Maybe it’s those DLCs that make you pay more, eh? Anyway, back to Ragnarok Ascended – they launched this free expansion in June. Huge Norse-themed map, 144 square kilometers, which is like…pretty massive. But of course, big map, big problems. Reviews are also all over the place. Mixed feelings there too, surprise surprise.
Jumping to the present, the v68.34 update rolled out on July 18. Mostly bug fixes. No shiny new content, just a bunch of patches. Sandstorms causing the game to run like molasses? Fixed. And there’s something about Basilosaurus spawns being more frequent. Anyone care? Anyone at all? Labyrinth puzzle should take codes correctly now – finally, right?
And there’s more. Save icon drama with mod maps? Sorted. You can delete saves now if that was stressing you out. Backup saves getting glitchy? They’ve patched that too. If you’re into loading mod maps, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Progress is safe and sound.
But hold up, there’s stuff I nearly forgot. The Thylacoleo (some kind of dino-cat deal) had weird swimming animations? Fixed. Items disappearing into the ground? Also fixed. Still, the Steam reviews are crying out for more fixes, so there’s that. But hey, another content drop is on the horizon next month – August, that is. Maybe that’ll keep everyone happy for a bit.
Patch notes? Yeah, sure:
– Low FPS during sandstorms on Ragnarok: handled.
– Lab puzzle inputs should be less of a headache now.
– Basilosaurus population boom!
– Mod map save icon appears, deletes as it should.
– Backup saves touch-up.
– Thylacoleo’s swim visuals back to normal.
– And those pesky items stay above ground.
Okay, that’s a wrap – till the next bug or update rolls in, I guess!
